Job summary

Aliaxis is seeking a hands-on Quality Control professional for our RX Plastics site in Ashburton, NZ. The role is a permanent night shift (10:00 PM–6:00 AM) focusing on QC testing, sampling, inspections, and ensuring product quality on the production floor.

You will maintain QC records, raise issues with the Production team, and support audits while upholding HSE policies. 5+ years in QC/manufacturing and a QA certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quality Control or manufacturing-related role.
  • A Certificate or Diploma in Quality Assurance or a related field.
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving and quality improvement.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with production and operations to maintain quality.
  • Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Proactively identify Health & Safety risks and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain a safe working environment.

About the role

This is a full-time Quality Control opportunity based at our RX Plastics site in Ashburton. This is a hands-on quality role within a production environment, supporting product quality, compliance, and manufacturing standards. Unlike traditional laboratory-based QC positions, this role involves both laboratory testing and active engagement on the manufacturing floor, including product sampling, inspections, and quality checks. This role operates on a permanent night shift schedule, working 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday night to Saturday morning

What will you do?
  • Create and maintain Quality Control (QC) records using company systems.
  • Perform quality control testing, inspections, and evaluations to ensure products meet applicable international, national, and company standards.
  • Record and share test results with the relevant teams.
  • Carry out routine quality control checks throughout each shift to ensure product consistency and compliance.
  • Take product samples and inspect products during production.
  • Raise quality issues and work with the Production team to resolve them.
  • Help maintain quality systems and support audits.
  • Investigate customer complaints and assess warehouse stock when required to support quality investigations.
  • Work closely with production and operations teams to maintain product quality.
  • Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Proactively identify Health & Safety risks and hazards and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain a safe working environment.
About you

Previous experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Production, or a similar environment.

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Quality Control or manufacturing-related role.
  • A Certificate or Diploma in Quality Assurance or a related field.
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving and quality improvement.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • A good understanding of quality standards, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement practices.
  • A strong commitment to Health & Safety, with a practical, safety-first approach to work.
