Job description
Overview

Ponsonby Montessori Kindergarten II Auckland

Seeking a collaborative teacher to join our team at Ponsonby Montessori Kindergarten. We opened in February 2023, building on our experience as qualified owner/operators of Ponsonby Montessori Kindergarten since 2013. We have an established reputation for excellence in the Grey Lynn/Ponsonby area.

Inspired by a flexible, blended Montessori approach with Te Whāriki at the centre. 100% qualified team, driven by genuine relationships, passionate about teaching, strong sense of belonging, appreciation of diversity and a desire to grow professionally. We are a KTCA Extended Pay Parity centre.

We value and care about our children, families and each other, especially teacher well-being. Our tamariki learn in a mixed-age setting (2-5, 40 children) with Montessori resources and other open-ended resources to support children's learning through play.

Being privately owned and operated by “teachers”, we grow future leaders, sharing leadership in all aspects of centre life as part of a shared leadership round table. We believe in happy teachers and whānau through having enough resources and teachers for routines, learning and professional development to occur simultaneously. We have an established team culture that we strive to protect.

Don’t be afraid of the fact we’re Montessori; we’ve created a blend that will work for someone who is flexibly-minded, co-constructs knowledge, capable of weaving purposeful learning into play, values inquiry and believes that “better never stops”! Beginning teachers welcome; this role is about openness, willingness to learn and flexible thinkers.
