Job summary

AntBank is seeking a Software Tester to validate its digital wallet, card issuance and payment platforms across web, mobile and backend services. You will design tests, execute functional and integration tests, and ensure the accuracy and security of transactions in production-ready software.

Job description

The Software Tester is responsible for testing AntBank's software platforms, payment systems and integrations to ensure they are reliable, secure, accurate and ready for production use .

Ant Technology Limited (AntBank) is developing digital financial technology products including the AntBank Digital Wallet, AntBank Card, NZDR Stablecoin and Gift Card Merchant Network .

Key Responsibilities

Software & Functional Testing

• Prepare test plans, test scenarios, test cases and test data based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression and user acceptance testing.
• Test web-based, mobile and backend applications.
• Identify, document and track software defects through to resolution.
• Retest corrected defects and conduct regression testing before production releases.
• Verify that delivered software meets approved business and technical requirements.

Card Issuing & Payment Testing

• Test physical and virtual card issuance workflows.
• Test card activation, suspension, freeze/unfreeze, replacement and cancellation.
• Test transaction authorisation, decline and reversal scenarios.
• Test refunds, partial refunds and duplicate transactions.
• Test card spending limits and transaction controls.
• Verify transaction status throughout authorisation, clearing and settlement.
• Test card-processor and external payment-system integrations.
• Validate transaction notifications and customer transaction histories.
• Test exceptional and failed transaction scenarios.

Digital Wallet & Ledger Testing

• Test wallet creation, funding, transfers and balance calculations.
• Verify the relationship between wallet balances, card transactions and ledger entries.
• Test authorisation holds and release of expired or reversed holds.
• Validate refunds, reversals and adjustments.
• Confirm transaction records remain accurate throughout the payment lifecycle.
• Test reconciliation between AntBank records and external processor or settlement records.

Database Testing

• Validate database records against application and transaction results.
• Test data accuracy, consistency and integrity.
• Verify relationships between customer, wallet, card and transaction records.
• Test duplicate-transaction prevention and idempotency controls.
• Identify missing, duplicated or inconsistent records.
• Test database behaviour under failed or interrupted transactions.
• Verify that sensitive data is handled according to security requirements.

API & Integration Testing

• Test APIs connecting AntBank with card issuers, processors, payment providers and other external systems.
• Validate API requests, responses, authentication and error handling.
• Test webhooks and transaction notifications.
• Test timeout, retry and duplicate-message scenarios.
• Verify appropriate handling of invalid or unexpected data.
• Use tools such as Postman or equivalent API-testing platforms.

Security & Compliance Testing

• Support testing of access controls, user permissions and authentication.
• Verify that sensitive payment and cardholder information is not unnecessarily exposed.
• Check applications and logs for inappropriate exposure of sensitive information.
• Support testing associated with PCI DSS and AntBank's security requirements.
• Test audit trails and administrative activity records.
• Verify role-based access and least-privilege controls.
• Assist with vulnerability remediation testing.
• Escalate material security or data-integrity issues immediately.

The Software Tester is not expected to independently perform formal PCI DSS certification or penetration testing unless appropriately qualified. Specialist assessments may be conducted by external security or compliance providers.

Test Automation

The Software Tester should progressively support automation of repeatable tests, including:

• API testing
• Regression testing
• Transaction-flow testing
• Database validation
• Integration testing

Experience with tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Postman/Newman, JMeter or equivalent technologies would be valuable.

Defect Management & Documentation

The position will:

• Clearly document defects with reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Assign appropriate severity and priority.
• Work with software developers to investigate issues.
• Maintain testing records and evidence.
• Prepare testing completion reports.
• Maintain regression test suites.
• Support release-readiness decisions.
• Ensure critical defects are resolved or formally addressed before production deployment.
