About the RoleWe’re looking for a QA Automation to join our Auckland-based engineering team and help us build, maintain, and scale reliable, high-quality fintech products by leveraging modern AI technologies and agentic workflows.
This is an automation-first and AI-first engineering role. You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated test solutions across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end layers while incorporating modern AI tools and agentic testing workflows into our engineering practices. You’ll work closely with software engineers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to identify quality risks early and build quality into the product throughout the development lifecycle.
This role is ideal for a QA professional who has strong hands-on automation experience and wants to continue developing their skills in a modern fintech environment.
What You'll DoAutomation & Engineering
Design, build, maintain, and improve automated test frameworks and test suites.
Develop reliable and maintainable automated tests across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end layers.
Write clean, reusable, and well-structured automation code using appropriate software engineering practices and design patterns.
Build automation that provides fast and meaningful feedback to developers and the wider engineering team.
Identify opportunities to increase automation coverage and reduce reliance on repetitive manual testing.
Maintain and improve test automation frameworks, utilities, libraries, test data, and supporting tools.
Contribute to automation strategy and help determine the right level of testing across Unit, Integration, API, and Functional layers.
Leverage AI-powered tools for automated test generation, framework optimisation, and suite maintenance.
API, Integration & Functional Testing
Design and execute tests for APIs, services, integrations, and critical business workflows.
Validate data flows, business rules, system integrations, and customer journeys.
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
Investigate failures and defects, identify root causes, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
Ensure automated tests provide reliable and actionable results.
Utilise AI tools to assist in rapid test case generation, intelligent coverage gap analysis, and automated defect root-cause analysis.
CI/CD & Release Quality
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
Help establish and maintain automated quality gates.
Monitor automated test results and investigate failures.
Support release testing and provide clear visibility of quality, risks, and release readiness.
Manage and maintain test environments and test data to support reliable test execution.
Help ensure releases operate satisfactorily when deployed to production.
Integrate AI-based quality analysis and automated risk assessment into deployment pipelines.
Collaboration & Delivery
Work closely with Product Owners and engineers to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, technical designs, and potential quality risks.
Contribute to quality discussions during planning, refinement, design, development, and release activities.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
Communicate testing progress, risks, defects, and blockers clearly and proactively.
Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, technical demonstrations, and engineering discussions.
Proactively suggest improvements to automation, engineering practices, processes, and product quality.
Guide team members in adopting AI-driven testing workflows and agentic testing best practices.
We’re looking for someone who combines QA expertise, automation capability, and software engineering thinking.
2–5 years' experience in QA, test automation, software testing, or a similar engineering role.
Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated tests.
Experience with one or more modern automation frameworks such as Playwright and Cucumber.
Experience with API testing and automation tools and practices.
Proven proficiency in AI-assisted testing frameworks and hands-on experience with AI-based test execution tools.
Strong capability to design, implement, and execute agentic test plans and intelligent testing workflows.
Strong time management and communication skills.
Ability balance a passion for quality and continuous improvement with prioritisation and pragmatism
