Job summary

Health New Zealand |TeWhatu Ora is seeking a Public Health Nurse to deliver community health services in Nelson, linking with children, families and whānau to improve population health outcomes. The role is permanent part-time up to 0.8 FTE, with remuneration paid on the relevant nursing collective.

You will work within a supportive team, apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and contribute to equitable, accessible health care for diverse communities through evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Current NZ Nursing Council registration with Annual Practising Certificate.

About the Role

As a Public Health Nurse, you will deliver public health nursing services across the community. Public health nursing includes assessment of population health, attention to the multiple determinants of health, an emphasis on primary prevention, and continued commitment to best evidence-based public health nursing practice.

Thepublic health nursing team ispart of the National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand -TeWhatu Ora, and work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures for all) by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing onoranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
