As a region Northland is renowned for its beautiful beaches and relaxed lifestyle.Whangarei is the largest population centre and Whangarei hospital is the largest hospital in Northland, providing secondary care services for the province, supported by three regional hospitals. This is a secondary base hospital providing a wide range of services including ED, medical specialties, ICU, ENT, O&G, Paediatrics and Psychiatry.Whangarei Hospital is part of the Northern Region Psychiatry Training Programme.We welcome applications from doctors seeking vocational training in Psychiatry only. Please specify in your cover letter if you are seeking a temporary (generally one year) non-training position or if you are seeking a full (minimum 5 years) training position leading to permanent work in NZ as a trained psychiatrist.Whangarei has had considerable success in providing comprehensive training to Registrars enabling them to gain Fellowship of the RANZCP.
