We are looking to recruit Property Lawyers to join our team in St Leonards on Sea. This role is suitable for individuals with experience in conveyancing and managing their own caseloads.

Key responsibilities of a Property Lawyer
  1. Managing an average caseload of 50 files, covering all aspects of conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion, registration, and closure.
  2. Taking instructions, maintaining accurate file notes, communicating with clients and third parties, and drafting legal documents such as Precedent Letters, Contract Packs, Title Reports, Exchange and Completion letters, and Land Registry and HMRC forms.
  3. Performing Pre-completion, Land Registry, and Conveyancing searches accurately and promptly, ensuring all paperwork and funds are in place for exchange and completion.
  4. Handling Post-Completion tasks including applications to the Land Registry, Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions, and file closures.
  5. Managing a mixed caseload of Freeholds and Leaseholds, with potential training on complex matters like shared ownership, unregistered properties, and new builds.

Skills and experience required
  • Qualified candidates with a Law Degree, LPC, licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor, or FCILEX are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience managing conveyancing caseloads.
  • Excellent communication skills, good time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail is essential.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Case Management Systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is advantageous.
