Job summary

Howden Pacific is seeking an experienced underwriter for a 12-month parental leave contract, starting early October. The role blends underwriting with relationship management, facility operations and business development, servicing insurer partners and internal brokers.

You will onboard and train brokers and insurers, monitor performance, and contribute to cross‑team adoption of processes. The ideal candidate has at least two years of underwriting experience in commercial property and liability,

We're looking for a parental leave contract for 12 months ideally starting early October.

This role is broader than most underwriting roles where you will have a strong focus on relationship management, facility operations and business development. In this role you will be responsible for both our insurer partners and internal brokers.

Key responsibilities include broker and insurer onboarding and training, managing the day-to-day facility operations, tracking monthly performance, conducting detailed quarterly reviews with insurer partners, and working closely with brokers and senior managers to drive facility adoption across the business.

The ideal candidate will have:

Underwriting experience – at least two years ideally in commercial property and the liability space
