Job summary

Starship Child Health in Auckland is seeking a Project Manager (Clinical) to lead projects, develop clinical pathways, and drive service improvements for tamariki and whānau across the health system.

You will work alongside clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, translating ideas into practical improvements while advancing equitable care. Prior experience in healthcare project leadership and strong communication are essential, with Te Tiriti awareness valued.

Qualifications

• Experience leading projects, service improvement or change initiatives in a healthcare environment.
• A clinical background or experience working closely with clinical services.
• A commitment to reducing inequities for Māori and to actualise Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and relationship management skills.
• The ability to translate ideas into practical improvements.
• Current practising registration is not required for this role.

We are recruiting for two Project Manager (Clinical) positions. One position has become available through a team vacancy, while the second is a newly created role reflecting the growth of our team and expanding portfolio of work. Working alongside clinicians, service leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will lead projects, develop clinical pathways, and drive service improvement initiatives that support high-quality, equitable care. You will contribute to a diverse portfolio spanning pathway development, service redesign, quality improvement and strategic initiatives that improve access, experience, and outcomes for tamariki and whānau. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing people together, navigating complexity, and turning ideas into practical, sustainable improvements.
