Job summary

Envelope ENG in Wellington is seeking a Project Lead + Senior Civil Engineer to lead the design, planning, and execution of a broad range of civil engineering and land development projects. You will support the Wellington Civil Manager to ensure on-time delivery and quality outcomes.

The role requires significant technical civil engineering experience, a proven project-management track record, and strong client communication skills; people-management experience is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent competency.
• Experience liaising with clients and pursuing business goals in line with plans.

The role

The Project Lead + Senior Civil Engineer role will be involved in leading the design, planning, and execution of a wide range of civil engineering and land development projects and will support the Wellington Civil Manager to manage delivery of projects.

To fill this role, we are looking for someone who has significant technical experience as a Civil Engineer, an established track record of project management including client communications, and ideally some people management experience.

What you’ll bring

• 6+ years civil engineering experience, including significant project management responsibilities/experience.
• A relevant tertiary qualification – bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent demonstrated competency and experience.
• Experience liaising and negotiating with clients and potential clients, and a proven record of achieving goals in line with business plans and company strategy.
• Understanding of New Zealand design standards and council approval processes.
