Overview

Join Napier City Council’s Water Services team as a Project Coordinator! You’ll play a key part in delivering essential water infrastructure projects, supporting contract and project administration, and helping ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard. If you’re organised, detail-oriented, and ready to make a tangible impact, we want to hear from you.

Te Āheinga – The Opportunity
  • Coordinate and administer water services contracts, ensuring compliance with Council policies and legislative requirements.
  • Track project deliverables, including tenders, purchase orders, invoices, bonds, warranties, and defect periods.
  • Support Portfolio Leads with financial analysis, schedule and progress reporting, and portfolio management.
  • Maintain and improve project and contract records, data capture systems, and reporting processes.
  • Contribute to departmental administration, budgeting, and KPI reporting, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and project delivery.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract development, review, and project administration.
  • Strong knowledge of project management practices, procurement, and contract administration procedures.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to communicate clearly with teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment.

This is a permanent, full time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier.

The annual salary package for this role is $68,500-$80,600 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
