Job summary

Christchurch International Airport Limited (CIAL) is seeking a part-time Project & Asset Accountant to support the full-time Asset & Regulatory Accountant in managing our asset portfolio. You will handle capital project management, asset accounting (depreciation, reconciliations and capitalisations) and assist with regulatory reporting and taxation.

This role requires collaboration with internal project managers and leadership teams, adherence to policies, and a pragmatic approach to delivering

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in a chartered accounting firm or commercial company.
• Strong understanding of asset management and capital project accounting.
• Experience with TechnologyOne or similar ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Capital project management and asset accounting including depreciation, reconciliations and capitalisations.
• Support regulatory reporting and taxation processes.
• Collaborate with internal project managers and leadership teams to ensure smooth asset accounting.
• Ensure adherence to policies and standards in asset accounting.

Education

Tertiary qualification in finance or accounting

The opportunity

We are looking for a part-time Project & Asset Accountant to support the full-time Asset & Regulatory Accountant in managing CIAL's asset portfolio. About you:

You will be successful in this role because you have:

• a Tertiary qualification in finance or accounting (Chartered Accountant qualification desirable)
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a chartered accounting firm or commercial company
• A strong understanding of asset management and capital project accounting
• Experience with TechnologyOne or similar financial/ ERP systems
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills
• A pragmatic approach to ensuring efficient and effective delivery
