Job summary

Kiwibank is seeking a strategic leader to head quality assurance for its core banking modernisation programme. You will shape the QA framework, govern testing across multiple stakeholders, and drive readiness for Go/No-Go decisions in a high-profile transformation.

You will influence senior leadership and collaborate across technology, risk, compliance, and business teams to ensure successful delivery and quality outcomes. This role is based in New Zealand with multi-city collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of testing and quality assurance for large scale banking or financial services transformation programmes.
• Experience in delivering large scale account migration and UAT programmes.
• Strong understanding of quality frameworks and risk management within complex programmes.

Lead programme wide quality assurance across Kiwibank's core banking modernisation programme. You will provide strategic leadership on how quality assurance, controls and testing enable the successful delivery of Kiwibank’s most complex and significant transformation programme. Bringing together quality assurance, controls and testing activity, you will provide a clear view of programme readiness and risk across technology, risk, compliance, vendors and business teams. You will drive quality frameworks, testing strategies, migration readiness and defect governance, while providing the assurance and insights needed to support critical Go or No Go decisions. There is also an opportunity to explore how emerging technologies, including AI, can be applied to improve productivity, strengthen quality outcomes and enhance programme delivery.

For this role we’re looking for a strategic quality assurance leader who thrives in large scale transformation environments. We would love to hear from you if you have experience in the following:

• Proven leadership of testing and quality assurance for large scale banking or financial services transformation programmes
• Experienced in delivering large scale account migration and UAT programmes
• Proven experience leading complex technology delivery across multi-vendor environments
• Confident in developing quality frameworks, testing strategies and quality gates
• Strong understanding of banking products and financial accounting
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technology, risk, compliance and business teams
• Proficient in identifying assurance risks and driving effective mitigation actions
