A leading law firm with a national presence is seeking a Professional Support Lawyer to join their Auckland CBD office. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced legal professional (6+ years PQE) who thrives on sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and driving excellence in legal practice. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the firm\'s learning culture, ensuring that lawyers and staff are equipped with the latest insights, resources, and best practices.

What you\'ll do
  • Provide comprehensive legal research support to various practice groups.
  • Prepare, edit, and review high-quality legal articles, submissions, and thought leadership content that enhances the firm’s reputation within the profession.
  • Develop and maintain robust precedents, best practice documents, and knowledge databases.
  • Design engaging learning and development programmes.
  • Support career development initiatives such as internships and student programmes.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and staff on knowledge sharing projects, training sessions, and client development activities.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and case law.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars that encourage open discussion of new legal developments or practice improvements.
What you bring
  • Hold a law degree with a current practising certificate recognised in New Zealand.
  • Possess at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience within private practice environments.
  • Exhibit advanced research skills coupled with the ability to distil complex legal concepts into clear communications suitable for diverse audiences.
  • Showcase strong written communication abilities through authorship or editing of articles, submissions, or similar materials intended for publication or internal use.
  • Experience supporting career development initiatives such as mentoring interns would be advantageous.
