Job summary

Health New Zealand in Palmerston North is seeking a dedicated Professional Administrator to support leaders and services. You will provide high-quality office administration and secretarial support while leveraging your strong organisational and time-management skills.

Working with the Administration Lead and Locality Service Managers, you will lead and support initiatives that enable a wellness and recovery-focused model of care, supporting diverse teams across clinical and community services.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in an administration team environment.
  • Excellent computer literacy, particularly in Windows and Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Proven communication skills and the ability to connect and collaborate with senior leaders, external partners and frontline employees.
  • Excellent word-processing skills and a strong command of written English, including grammar and spelling.

About the Role

Uru Rauhī, Mental Health and Addiction Services, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Professional Administrator to join the team. This varied and challenging role will support leaders and services as they work towards a wellness and recovery-focused model of care. You will provide high-quality office administration and secretarial support while using your strong organisational and time-management skills. Working alongside the Administration Lead and Locality Service Managers, you will lead and support the effective delivery of projects and initiatives. You will work with a diverse and talented team supporting community and clinical services for people experiencing mental health and addiction events.

About you

About the Team / Service

Our services are moving towards a wellness and recovery-focused approach that encourages social, spiritual, physical and environmental interconnectedness. Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua - MidCentral is a 350-bed hospital in the city of Palmerston North, Manawatū, a city in the Lower North Island of New Zealand. Palmerston North Hospital is a secondary hospital and offers most medical and surgical specialties with the exception of Cardiothoracic, Plastic and Neurosurgery. The hospital serves a local population of 180,000 but is the base for a regional head and neck oncology service which has responsibility for a population of 550,000 and draws patients from Whanganui, Taranaki, and Hawke's Bay. Employing over 2500 people, MidCentral offers a supportive work environment that accepts and values all employees.
