Job summary

Humes in Nelson is seeking a reliable Production Worker to join our team and support onsite manufacturing of pipe and precast products. You will work in a health and safety conscious environment, following best practices to help everyone go home safely each day.

The role is Monday to Friday, full-time with entry-level pay and opportunities for upskilling, personal and professional development, staff discounts, and an education fund to support you and your whānau.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and a can-do attitude.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness with the ability to follow processes and systems.
• Good attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and contribute to the production and quality of pipe and/or precast products onsite.
• Ensure equipment is in sound working order and maintained.

Here’s what we are looking for:

Ideally, we're on the lookout for personnel with experience in a manufacturing, construction or warehousing environment with mechanical aptitude as you will be working around large and technical plant & precast machinery. You will be performing a variety of routine tasks and duties to contribute to the manufacturing and quality of pipe and/or pre-cast production onsite and ensuring equipment is in sound working order.

To succeed in this role, you’ll have:

• A willingness to learn and a can-do attitude.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness with the ability to follow processes and systems.
• Good attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Capacity for manual labour - You must be physically fit and comfortable lifting up to 25 kgs in weight.
