Job summary

Stratco, an Australian-owned company operating in New Zealand, is seeking a hands-on machine operator/production worker to join our Cromwell-based team. The role focuses on operating roll formers, folders and press brakes, producing quality products to meet customer specs, and maintaining a safe, efficient workspace.

You will collaborate across departments, participate in toolbox talks, and contribute to a positive, high-performing culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a machine operator/production worker.
• FLT licence preferred, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operating metal folding, roll forming, and pressing machinery with precision and care.
• Manufacturing products to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Assisting with general housekeeping to maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace.
• Working collaboratively across teams and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
• Participating in toolbox talks and team meetings.
• Championing workplace safety by following critical safety procedures and helping maintain a safe working environment for everyone.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a machine operator/production worker
• Whilst advantageous to have experience with sheet metal equipment — especially roll formers, folders, and press brakes, it’s not essential.
• FLT licence preferred, but not essential
• A reliable team player with a proactive, can-do mindset
• A practical problem solver, who can think on their feet
