Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:

We have operations in Saint Louis, Missouri, Huntington Beach, California, and Milford, Connecticut, serving local, and international customers, both military and commercial. The company supplies platform controls, aircraft components, liquid oxygen equipment, and emergency breathing equipment to its customers.

Position Summary:

Responsible for planning and leading the daily activities of the Production-Assembly team in the areas of production, safety, training, quality and maintenance to meet customers’ needs and company standards and goals.

Essential Duties:

  • Set expectations of performance for team members and provides frequent performance feedback.
  • Complete periodic, probationary, performance, and disciplinary reviews for supervised employees.
  • Mentor and train team to guide employees to properly manage and complete work on time.
  • Evaluate training needs for assigned employees and coordinates and/or trains assigned employees as required using a department skills training matrix.
  • Audit the safety adherence of the team, look for any unsafe issues and correct them immediately.
  • Monitor the hourly/daily production and measure the gap between expected and actual results. A gap in performance is a trigger for action. Take the necessary actions and document.
  • Drive continuous improvement and problem solving within the production team. Be the gatekeeper of continuous improvement and kaizen/5S ideas and efforts for all assembly areas.
  • Assist Production Control with the creation and update of monthly shipment plans.
  • Communicate and interface daily with inspection, production control, engineering, and source inspection to keep products moving out of production and into inspection.
  • Attend production meetings and use information gathered to attain production goals.
  • Organize and plan work to meet On Time Delivery Goals and maintain quality and integrity of parts.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering with the creation and revision of master routers and manufacturing work instructions for products using blueprints and other applicable sources of information.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods and processes.
  • Keep track of all WIP to meet production and delivery schedules.
  • Enforce Essex handbook policies and provide a positive work environment.
  • Assist in other areas, or tasks, to meet production needs.

Requirements:

Required Education/Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college. 5 or more years’ experience in management/supervision. 5 or more years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing. Proficient at blueprint reading. Highly self-motivated to develop and grow in knowledge and abilities. Demonstrates leadership qualities and the ability to lead others. Advanced computer skills and experience with ERP systems necessary.
  • The pay for this position starts at a minimum of $39.94/hr. when the minimum job requirements are met and goes up based upon a candidate’s experience and qualifications in a similar role. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance.
