Job summary

Danone New Zealand is hiring a Production Scheduler at our Auckland production facility. You will develop and manage short-term schedules (0–4 weeks), coordinate material availability, and manage production orders in SAP.

You will report to the Auckland Planning Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise line capacity and maintain inventory targets in a fast-paced FMCG environment. Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Supply Chain or related field, with 2+ years

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within Supply Chain, Production Planning or Scheduling, preferably in FMCG, food manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems, ideally SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong planning, organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Office Suite skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short-term production schedules (0-4 week horizon) to meet customer demand and production capacity requirements.
  • Lead weekly production planning meetings and communicate schedule changes, risks and priorities.
  • Create, manage and close production orders within SAP.
  • Monitor production capacity and make recommendations to optimise line utilisation.
  • Coordinate the timely availability of raw and packaging materials in partnership with the Materials Planning team.
  • Manage packaging purchase orders and inventory levels to support uninterrupted production.
  • Ensure batch allocations and recipe validations are completed before production runs.
  • Maintain accurate production-related master data.
  • Coordinate product rework requirements and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
  • Support daily production meetings by providing updates on upcoming production plans and potential risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes and communication across functions.

Come and join us at Danone's state-of-the-art production facility in Auckland! We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Scheduler to join our dynamic Supply Chain team.

Reporting to the Auckland Planning Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring our production lines operate efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for developing and managing short-term production schedules, coordinating material availability, maintaining production orders, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer demand while optimising inventory and plant capacity.

This role is ideal for a highly organised and analytical professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and influencing outcomes across multiple stakeholders.

You will:

  • Develop and maintain short-term production schedules (0-4 week horizon) to meet customer demand and production capacity requirements.
  • Lead weekly production planning meetings and communicate schedule changes, risks and priorities.

You will have a tertiary qualification in Microbiology/Science or equivalent. You enjoy working in a laboratory environment and have a continuous improvement mindset and great initiative when it comes to supporting the team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within Supply Chain, Production Planning or Scheduling, preferably in FMCG, food manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments.
