Job summary

Danone is seeking a Dispensary Technician for our Balclutha site. This hands-on role supports safe and efficient manufacturing by preparing and organizing ingredients for formulations. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will ensure accuracy, quality and safety in all ingredients used.

The position is permanent full-time, Sunday to Wednesday, 6:30 am – 4:30 pm, with a focus on following procedures, maintaining documentation, and supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing/production
• Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Science
• Knowledge of food or dairy hygiene practices
• Understanding of HACCP principles (advantageous)
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good communication and teamwork
• Basic computer skills (Excel and Word)
• Proactive mindset and problem-solving ability

We are looking for aDispensary Technicianto join our Production team at our Balclutha site. This is a hands‑on role within our dispensary operations, where you will be responsible for preparing and organising ingredients to support safe and efficient manufacturing processes.

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and safety of ingredients used in our formulations. Your work will directly support our commitment to producing high‑quality nutritional products.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Accurately transfer, weigh, and measure ingredients using appropriate equipment
• Monitor and check equipment to ensure precision and reliability
• Prepare ingredients in line with production schedules and formulation requirements
• Maintain high standards of quality and food safety at all stages of the process
• Ensure full compliance with dispensary procedures and documentation systems
• Coordinate stock levels with the warehouse and request materials as required
• Communicate effectively with production and site teams to support continuous improvement
• Promote and adhere to WISE Health & Safety principles to maintain a safe working environment

You are a detail‑oriented and reliable team player who takes pride in accuracy and quality. You thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and have a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Your ability to follow processes carefully, manage workload efficiently, and communicate effectively across teams will be key to your success in this role.

To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience (3+ years) in a manufacturing or production environment
• A tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Microbiology, Science, or similar (preferred)
• Knowledge of food or dairy hygiene practices
• Understanding of HACCP principles (advantageous)
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Basic computer skills (Excel and Word)
• A proactive mindset and strong problem‑solving ability
