  • Managing, engaging, and developing a team of both direct and indirect (plus temp resources), including recruitment, performance management, driving employee engagement and coaching
  • Ensuring all product standards are met and all quality control procedures are implemented, monitored, and audited
  • Driving the use of our internal IWS Lean methodology to ensure manufacturing excellence and to meet (and exceed!) agreed company targets
  • Ability to identify losses and opportunities that enhance productivity and drive operational efficiencies.
What you’ll bring to the role?
  • Proven experience in a leadership role at a senior level within a complex manufacturing environment
  • Ideally, you’ll have a tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Engineering, Food Technology, or another relevant field.
  • A strong record of developing people, driving engagement and building a positive culture.
  • The ability to contribute to strategic plans and then drive the effort of departments to achieve the required performance
  • Experience within a food manufacturing environment – including awareness of key food safety and quality requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to engage your team and link with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Well refined problem-solving skills coupled with the resilience and confidence to make decisions under pressure.
  • Accountability, positivity, and a solutions-focused approach– nothing is ever a problem, you see roadblocks as a challenge.
Benefits:

  • Opportunity to work for a global FMCG company
  • Free onsite car park & discounted staff canteen
  • Discounted staff shop product
  • We're committed to growing together, thinking responsibly and acting entrepreneurially, and you can expect a supportive working environment where you'll feel engaged and valued, with a focus on safety and wellness to make your workplace more enjoyable!

Here at Griffin’s Snacks we’re proudly owned by Intersnack, a private company founded in Germany in 1968. Although internationally owned, we are still very much a local company - we manufacture our great tasting products across four factories in New Zealand (two in South Auckland and one each in Wellington and Nelson) and employ over 800 people nationwide.

For over 160 years, we’ve been making some of New Zealand’s favourite biscuits, crackers, potato chips and bars and it’s been a pretty delicious journey, but for us, it’s been about more than just the food. Ever since John Griffin opened our first factory early in the 19th century, our communities have mattered to us too. We’re about getting stuck in and helping where we can, so everyone gets the chance to share in our passion for life and food.

Across all of our manufacturing sites, we encourage a work environment that is exciting, challenging and we strive for innovation in everything we do. Our aim is for our people to share in our success, enjoy our products and reap the benefits of their hard work within a supportive environment where work-life balance is encouraged, and genuine growth and career opportunities are on offer.

In joining the Intersnack family, we now are a part of their global business – adding to their large portfolio of local and international snack brands, from potato chips, nuts, and baked products to specialty snacks. Intersnack are present in over 30 countries across Europe, Australia, New Zealand and beyond and are passionate about enriching people's lives with the right choice of great-tasting snacks. Every day, more than 15 million consumers around the globe enjoy products from the range of Intersnack brands!
