Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, a world leader in medical devices, is hiring a Product Development Engineer (L2) in New Zealand. You will join the myAirvo platform team to shape development from concept to release, balancing hardware, software, and connected products to improve patient care at home.
You’ll work with patients, clinicians and regulators, applying design reviews and verification to deliver robust solutions while growing across disciplines in a collaborative culture.
Join a team of good people doing good work with intent.People like you, who care to make a difference.
We have an exciting opportunity in Home Respiratory Support for a Product Development Engineer (L2) to join the team behind the myAirvo product family – the platform taking high-flow therapy from the hospital ward into the home. There's a big period ahead, with new technologies heading for the platform and plenty of scope to shape what myAirvo becomes next. You'll be part of a close-knit group doing new things in new areas, from new therapies to new ways of supporting patients at home – a dynamic and exciting part of the business to be in.
In this role you'll partner with the Airvo/myAirvo platform teams to carry projects through formal product development to release – shaping design decisions, maintaining the vision behind each project, and involving the right stakeholders at the right time. You'll also carry what you learn forward, driving the learnings and experience from these projects into our next generation platforms.
You'll build and represent a deep understanding of our patients, the clinicians who prescribe and monitor therapy, and the regulatory environment we operate in. At times you'll get hands-on too, whether that's bench testing, building software prototypes to explore ideas, or working with other teams on usability testing.
This is a role with real breadth: you'll see projects across the full product lifecycle and work with a range of different disciplines across the company – engineering, clinical, regulatory, marketing and commercial. It's an ideal role for an engineer who wants to grow beyond a single discipline and understand how successful products really come together. To succeed, you'll be a systems thinker who is comfortable across hardware, software and connected products, and who communicates well with all of these groups.
