Job summary

Foodstuffs North Island is seeking a hands-on Produce Manager to lead our produce department with pride in fresh food, high standards and strong leadership. You will drive daily floor presence, stock accuracy, and team performance to deliver quality displays and great value for customers.

You’ll set the pace on ordering, rotation, food safety and loss prevention, while coaching your team to work efficiently and consistently exceed department targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supermarket produce department, with a good understanding of fresh produce quality and handling.
• Strong ordering, stock management and organisational skills.
• The ability to lead, train and motivate a team.
• An eye for presentation and the initiative to put things right without waiting to be asked.
• A practical understanding of how availability, waste and margin affect department performance.
• Clear communication, reliability and pride in your work.

Produce is animportant part of our neighbourhood store. We've invested in the department'sfixtures and presentation, and we're looking for someone who will takeownership of its quality, availability and performance.

About the role

You'll lead theday-to-day operation of our produce department, working alongside yourteam to:

• Deliver fresh, full and appealing displaysthroughout the day.
• Manage ordering and stock levels around seasonalchanges, promotions and customer demand.
• Maintain quality through careful handling, stockrotation and regular checks.

This is apractical leadership role. You'll be on the floor with your team, setting theexample and getting stuck in, while keeping on top of the numbers and planningahead.
