Job summary

KiwiRail is seeking a Procurement Specialist to lead sourcing, supplier management and value delivery across the business. You will partner with internal stakeholders to understand needs, negotiate contracts, and align procurement activities with KiwiRail policies and standards.

This role suits a relationship-focused professional who loves problem solving and driving continuous improvement, with 2–5 years in procurement or sourcing and a track record of delivering practical commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, systems, and best practice.
• Confidence using procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications.

We're looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team and help deliver effective procurement outcomes across KiwiRail.

You'll manage procurement activities from sourcing through to supplier management, ensuring we secure quality goods and services that deliver the best value. Previous experience working as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar role is desirable, particularly 2-5 years' experience in procurement or sourcing
