Job summary

Te Kuiti High School in Te Kūiti, Waikato, seeks a Principal to lead our diverse school community and drive academic, cultural and wellbeing outcomes for ākonga.

The successful candidate will be a strong, charismatic leader with a clear vision for education, committed to engaging whānau, hapū and iwi, and guiding staff through change while upholding Te Ao Māori values.

Responsibilities

• Lead and govern the school with a growth mindset and clear vision.
• Be responsive to whānau, hapū and iwi, strengthening tikanga and Te Reo Māori.
• Engage with the community to welcome and integrate whānau into school life.
• Support students, staff and whānau with flexibility and capability to drive change.
• Foster staff growth and openness, being present and accessible to the school community.
• Demonstrate integrity, strong communication, and visible leadership across all operations.
• Oversee financial and property management to ensure sustainable delivery of programs.
• Support excellence in academics, sport, culture, outdoor education and the arts.
• Strengthen partnerships with providers to enable vocational programs.
