Job summary

Ōtorohanga School is seeking a principal to lead our Year 1–8 kura tuatahi, guiding curriculum, culture and community partnerships.

The successful applicant will bring NZ teaching registration with leadership experience, a commitment to Te Ao Māori, and a collaborative, student-centred approach to drive achievement and wellbeing across English-medium and Rūmaki provision.

• Be inspirational, dynamic and able to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships within the school and local community.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school's educational journey with innovative pedagogy and effective leadership practices.
• Provide strategic direction for curriculum development across Years 1–8.
• Foster restorative practices and positive behaviour management throughout the community.
• Ensure strong engagement with whānau, mana whenua and Te Ao Māori in decision making.
• Model and promote collaborative leadership with staff, students and community.
