You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across the water, energy and industrial sectors, bringing strong technical expertise while coordinating specialist inputs to develop innovative, high-quality outcomes for our customers.

Who We Are

Worley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value across the life of their assets. We specialize in consulting, engineering, procurement and construction across the project lifecycle, with services extending through to operations and decommissioning.

Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.

Our New Zealand team of approximately 250 professionals is backed by a global network of nearly 50,000 people, all driven by a common purpose of delivering a more sustainable world.

We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value throughout the lifecycle of their assets. From strategic planning and consulting through to design, construction support, commissioning and operation, we help solve complex challenges across the water, energy and industrial sectors.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the delivery of civil engineering packages across brownfield and greenfield projects, from feasibility studies, optioneering and concept development through to detailed design, construction support and project handover.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables including design criteria, calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, cost estimates and construction work packages.
  • Coordinate surveys, geotechnical investigations, utility assessments, drainage studies, pavement investigations and asset condition assessments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across structural, geotechnical, mechanical, process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, environmental and construction disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions.
  • Manage project scope, budget, programme, risks, quality and technical assurance requirements while supporting proposals, tender submissions, procurement activities and stakeholder engagement.
  • Deliver civil designs covering roads, pavements, earthworks, site grading, stormwater and drainage systems, buried utilities, industrial site development and contaminated land projects.
  • Support the design and coordination of retaining structures, utility corridors, three-waters infrastructure and heavy industrial facilities using tools such as Civil 3D and 12d Model.
  • Build strong customer relationships and mentor developing engineers, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
What You'll Bring
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, preferably from a Washington Accord recognised institution.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status in New Zealand.
  • Significant experience delivering civil engineering projects within consulting, design-and-construct, multidisciplinary or project delivery environments.
  • Strong technical expertise across roads, pavements, earthworks, drainage, stormwater, water and wastewater infrastructure, industrial civil works, buried utilities, energy infrastructure or land development projects.
  • Experience delivering projects through concept design, detailed design and construction support phases, ideally within brownfield or live operating environments.
  • Familiarity with New Zealand infrastructure standards, council requirements, consenting processes, construction monitoring and design certification.
  • Working knowledge of the Building Act, New Zealand Building Code, Health and Safety at Work Act, Safe Design principles, environmental and consenting requirements, and relevant New Zealand standards and industry guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and project coordination skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
  • A current driver's licence and legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
Why You Should Apply
  • Exposure to the full project lifecycle through Worley's integrated consulting, engineering, procurement and construction capability.
  • Work alongside engineers who understand what construction-ready design really means.
  • Join a fun, inclusive and globally connected team of professionals.
  • Flexible working arrangements that support work-life balance.
  • Competitive remuneration and employee benefits.
  • 22 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers.
  • The option to purchase up to 20 additional leave days each year.
  • Access to mentoring, professional development and career growth opportunities.
  • A supportive team culture built on respect, safety and collaboration.
  • Inclusive leadership committed to supporting diverse career journeys.
