The Opportunity

The Opportunity We’re seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of Gallagher Security’s secure, scalable, cloud-native platforms and services. Reporting to the Portfolio Lead for Product Technology, you will play a pivotal role in realising the strategic architectural vision and ensuring solutions are both executable and aligned to business goals, technical standards, and operational excellence.

In This Role You Will

• Provide deep technical leadership, shaping architectural decisions and guiding engineering and product teams
• Translate the Portfolio Lead’s strategic architecture into actionable patterns and decisions that teams can execute
• Lead platform migration from legacy systems to modular, scalable services while maintaining security and operational integrity
• Establish architectural patterns, guardrails, governance practices, and technical enablers to empower teams and drive velocity
• Mentor and elevate technical leaders, building product development capability and cloud-native expertise
• Collaborate closely with product, delivery and engineering teams to ensure solutions deliver measurable business value
• Be based locally and enjoy working in the office alongside a high-performing team
• Enjoy opportunities for international travel, collaborating with global teams and stakeholders

The Fit

You are a senior technical leader with extensive experience in cloud-native and hybrid cloud architectures, capable of bridging strategy and execution to deliver scalable, resilient, and commercially relevant solutions.

You’ll Bring

• 10+ years’ experience in architecture, design, and implementation of complex cloud-native platforms
• Proven ability to design for security, scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency in regulated environments
• Experience working across architecture, product, and engineering teams to implement modern technical solutions
• Strong strategic thinking with a systems-level perspective and ability to connect technical execution to enterprise objectives
• Leadership maturity and experience mentoring teams to build cloud-native capability
• Collaborative approach with the ability to influence across functions and stakeholders
• Exceptional communication skills to convey complex architectural concepts clearly and inspire confidence
