Job summary

MBIE invites you to shape New Zealand's building regulatory system and lead complex programmes that improve the sector. This permanent opportunity is based in Wellington or Christchurch with a salary range of NZ$132,417–NZ$160,472 plus Kiwisaver and wellness benefits.

In this role you will provide expert technical, regulatory and strategic advice; identify risks and opportunities; lead multidisciplinary teams; and influence senior leaders and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, construction practices, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience in complex regulatory, policy, operational or technical environments.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with ambiguity handling.
  • Ability to translate technical and regulatory considerations into practical advice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Experience leading complex projects or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand and ability to meet MBIE security clearance.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent senior professional experience.
  • Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand and ability to meet MBIE security clearance requirements.
