Job summary

New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) is seeking a highly experienced Principal Advisor to lead performance monitoring, reporting and assurance for the land transport regulatory system. You will support oversight by senior leaders, governance bodies and Ministers with evidence-based insights and strategic advice.

The role requires experience in regulatory performance, public sector accountability, and ability to deliver high-quality outputs with limited ramp-up time.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in performance monitoring and reporting.
• Experience advising senior leaders, governance bodies or Ministers.
• Strong written, verbal and visual communication for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead regular performance reporting on the regulatory system with evidence of strengths, risks and areas for improvement.
• Provide monitoring and reporting to NZTA leadership and Governance Bodies (Regulatory, Executive, Board).
• Offer strategic recommendations to senior executives, Boards and Ministers.
• Prepare tailored briefings and communications for Executive, Board and Ministerial audiences.
