Job summary

Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities is seeking a Principal Advisor to advise senior leaders and the Chief People and Assurance Officer. You will lead critical planning initiatives, oversee high-profile programmes, and deliver high-quality outputs to support organisational success.

In a fast-paced environment, you will navigate complex issues, anticipate risks, support executive engagement, and provide expert guidance across organisational processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in principal-level advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of Parliamentary processes and the Machinery of Government.
  • Excellent written communication for executives and boards.
  • Ability to manage complex workloads and competing priorities.
  • Expertise in stakeholder management and relationship building.
  • Sound judgement and handling of sensitive information.
  • Strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative leadership with mentoring and developing others.

Responsibilities

As Principal Advisor, you'll be a trusted advisor to the Chief People and Assurance Officer and other senior leaders across the organisation. You'll provide forward-thinking advice, lead critical planning initiatives, oversee high-profile work programmes, and ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs that support organisational success.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll navigate complex issues, anticipate emerging risks, support executive engagement, and provide expert guidance across a range or organisational processes and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Provide strategic advice and thought leadership to senior leaders.
