ACG Tauranga, located in Tauranga, offers a nurturing environment delivering the Cambridge Curriculum for Years 0–13. We are seeking a permanent, full-time New Entrants and Year 1 Teacher to join our incredible team and lead Year 0–2 classrooms.

The successful applicant will foster student wellbeing, literacy, numeracy, and inquiry-based learning in a collaborative, supportive setting starting Term 1, 2027.

ROLE SUMMARY

We are currently seeking applications for a permanent, full-time New Entrants and Year 1 Teacher to join our incredible team. Located in Tauranga, ACG Tauranga is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school for students in Years 0-13, delivering the Cambridge Curriculum.

As an Early Years Primary Teacher, your will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports students as they begin their school journey. The role delivers high-quality, differentiated teaching programmes that promote academic achievement, wellbeing, and a love of learning, while supporting each child's successful transition into primary school. Experience teaching Year 0/New Entrants to year 2 students is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be a collaborative team player who contributes positively to the wider life of the school and is committed to supporting student learning, wellbeing, and achievement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster confidence, independence, positive behaviour, and social development in young learners.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to Junior School initiatives and professional learning.

Qualifications
  • A recognised teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent.
  • NZQA Accreditation if not NZ qualified.
  • NZ Teacher Registration.
Additional Requirements
  • Prepared to undertake a New Zealand police check prior to commencing the position
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining New Zealand teaching accreditation.
  • Provide break duty and assist with pick up and drop off duties as required.
  • Actively engage with the Primary activities program.
  • Support and attend school events outside regular hours as required (e.g., open days, performances, parent-teacher interviews, etc.).
