Job summary

Laidlaw College in Auckland is inviting applications for a lecturing position in our Education team. You will join during an exciting growth phase and contribute by teaching across the primary curriculum and mentoring student teachers to support their development.

Ideal candidates will have recent New Zealand teaching experience, knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and Teaching Council standards, and a commitment to culturally sustaining practices with Māori and Pacific communities; postgraduate

Qualifications

• Recent teaching experience in New Zealand schools or Initial Teacher Education in New Zealand.
• Experience mentoring and developing student teachers and/or beginning teachers.
• Understanding the needs of student teachers.
• Familiarity with the Aotearoa New Zealand Teaching Council Code and Standards and the refreshed curriculum.
• Ability to engage with Māori and Pacific communities in culturally sustaining ways.
• Experience with e-Learning pedagogies and technologies.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Deliver primary curriculum teaching across a variety of year levels.
• Mentor student teachers and provide pastoral support.
• Engage with Māori and Pacific communities with culturally sustaining practices.
• Contribute to e-Learning pedagogies and technologies within the Education team.
• Participate in Christian initiatives in the college and wider community.
