Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Portfolio Manager – Older Persons to lead planning, funding and management of community services for older people. You will partner with the Planning, Funding and Outcomes team to develop and implement programmes aligned to government priorities and ensure services are integrated and sustainable.

Qualifications

• Graduate and postgraduate qualification required.
• 3–5 years' experience across planning, funding, commissioning or service development.
• Experience implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
• Experience across the commissioning cycle including service design and procurement.
• Strong analytical, data interpretation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver community services that support healthy ageing and equitable outcomes.
• Lead planning, funding and commissioning across a diverse portfolio of older persons' services.
• Partner with clinicians, providers and communities to design integrated models of care.
• Improve equity and outcomes for older people, including Māori and Pacific communities.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with consumers, clinicians, providers, Māori and Pacific partners, and other government agencies.
