Job summary

Napier Port is seeking experienced Truck Drivers for a 4-month fixed-term project to move containers and support the introduction of new transport operations at the port.

You will work 40 hours per week in a 24/7 shift environment, including nights and weekends, and participate in autonomous truck operation trials under supervision.

Applicants must hold a current Class 5 Licence, or Class 4 and be willing to upgrade with our support, and be eligible to work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Class 5 Driver Licence, or Class 4 Driver Licence with willingness to work towards Class 5 under our support.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand is required.
• Experience driving containers and operating in port/industrial environments is advantageous.
• Able to perform in a fast-paced, 24/7 shift environment and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Transport containers within the terminal and between Napier Port and off-site locations as required.
• Assist in the phased introduction of autonomous truck operations including in-cab and remote supervision.
• Operate in line with Napier Port’s Just Safety Culture and customer care standards.
• Deliver reliable services while adhering to all operational procedures and safety requirements.
