Job summary

Department of the Prime Minister & Cabinet (DPMC) in Wellington is seeking an Advisor for the Policy Project. This fixed‑term role runs to end of March 2027 and focuses on communicating policy work, coordinating programmes and engaging across government.

You'll develop resources, manage events and contribute to AI and the future of policymaking, while delivering practical policy tools for practitioners in a supportive team.

• Strong writing and communication, able to translate complex policy into clear content.
• Organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver on commitments.
• Build relationships across policy community and with senior leaders.
• Digital confidence and curiosity about AI; comfortable using digital tools and ensuring accuracy and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver clear communications for the Policy Project, including newsletters, website content and stakeholder updates.
• Coordinate programmes, cross-agency initiatives, events and workshops, keeping activities on track.
