Overview

As a trusted partner of the Nelson District Council, we take pride in maintaining the region's parks, playgrounds, gardens, infrastructure, and public spaces. We are seeking a Playground Operator!

Responsibilities

• Performing basic handyperson tasks including playground inspections, minor repairs and aeration
• Cleaning, refurbishing and maintaining park assets
• Conducting asset validation to ensure compliance and functionality
• Supporting the wider team as needed

What We're Looking For

• A practical, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for maintaining community spaces
• A broad range of handyperson skills with previous maintenance experience being advantageous
• Playground Inspection & Maintenance Course Level 2 (highly desirable, but we\'ll train the right candidate)
• A full current class 1 driver\'s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle confidently
• A strong focus on health and safety and a proactive, positive work ethic
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude; you\'ll work closely with the community and your wider team
• Reliability, punctuality, with a can-do attitude and an eye for detail
