About The Role

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, hands-on, Plant Engineer to join our team in Hamilton. Reporting to the Engineering Manager your role will be to plan, direct, conduct and deliver the maintenance engineering function at our production facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing effective, hands-on maintenance service to plant operations and departments
  • Planning, implementing, and conducting maintenance of the facilities to contribute to an uninterrupted and economic flow of production.
  • Overseeing and supervising a small maintenance team, providing supervision, support and assistance
  • Managing the maintenance budget, ensuring costs are in line with the annual expenditure budget
  • Implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance records
  • Actively involved in the rollout of TPM and activities associated with Autonomous Maintenance Teams, planned maintenance and 5S activities.
  • Managing contractors and relationships with suppliers
  • Assisting in the development of process changes to support manufacturing of new products
To Be Successful, You Will Preferably Have
  • Tertiary qualifications in a mechanical discipline – either degree or trade certificate
  • Several years’ experience in a hands-on maintenance role in an industrial setting
  • Mechanical problem solving with limited electrical qualification would be highly regarded
  • An unwavering commitment to safety
  • Exceptional planning, administration and organisational skills
  • Self-driven and able to work autonomously with a healthy dose of initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
