Our Dunedin facility is looking to build a team of casual Plant and Terminal Operators:

Plant and Terminal Operators - Casual

We are looking for responsible and reliable people to join the Dunedin team, to be available to be called to work on a casual basis as and when required.This work would ideally suit someone with spare time on their hands, are energetic and would like to earn some extra money.

The Plant & Terminal Operator role assists with bunker operations for vessels when they are at the Port. Tanker Operations involve the discharging of fuel tankers into Oil Industry Terminal tanks. Other duties may be offered should you have the right skills and positive approach to work and could include assisting at these terminals when required.

The work involves manual handling and will involve working outside in all weather conditions.

We do need people that will follow all operating procedures thoroughly and safely. You need to be prepared to be flexible, available to work a variety of possible workdays, weekends, available after hours as public holidays. Hours of work are determined around the ships coming into Port to fuel or discharge petroleum products.

Qualifications

  • A reliable and committed team member
  • Demonstrated skill in following operating procedures including strict health and safety requirements
  • Good verbal communication and able to maintain accurate written records.
  • A current fullClass A New Zealand driverlicence is essential
  • Pass a drug screening process
  • Good listening and communication skills
Additional Information

Must be a NZ Resident or hold a valid work visa in New Zealand and reside in New Zealand.

Owing to the nature of the work and scheduling requirements, the casual Plant & Terminal Operator will need to be able to work daytime, night-time, weekends and public holidays in all weather conditions when required.

Some moderately heavy work is undertaken, and all work is undertaken within a small team environment.
