Job description
About us

We are a 100% New Zealand owned and operated organisation, made up of two regional co-operatives and a central centre of excellence leading national marketing, brand and customer experience strategies and activities.

Foodstuffs New Zealand (FSNZ) partners with the broader business to ensure the creation of winning brands through customer experience design, actionable insights and rich data intelligence.

Te Tūranga — About the role

Joining our Customer & Intelligence team, you’ll harness market and customer insights to shape strategic direction and inform annual trading plans.

Your work will help ensure Foodstuffs’ iconic brands — PAK’nSAVE, New World, and Four Square — stay aligned with evolving customer needs, uncovering actionable insights that drive loyalty and enhance customer experience.

You’ll champion a data-driven culture, crafting compelling narratives that bring insights to life across the business. With a strong focus on customer-led segmentation, profiles, and audience development, you’ll deepen our understanding of customer behaviours.

You’ll also play a pivotal role in embedding insight-led planning, processes, and playbooks that make data accessible, engaging, and impactful.

  • Deliver actionable insights by evaluating a wide range of customer, competitor, and market data to inform strategic decisions and trading plans.
  • Lead customer insight initiatives for annual trade planning and key trading periods (e.g. Christmas), ensuring alignment with banner strategies.
  • Develop and embed a campaign insights framework to analyse pre- and post-campaign customer behaviours and their impact on market performance.
  • Champion data-driven solutions by collaborating across teams to address business challenges and embed insights into decision-making processes.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally to understand needs, deliver high-impact insights, and drive customer loyalty.
