Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity to apply your skills? We are offering a full-time, permanent position as a Planned Electrical Craftsperson (Electrical Maintenance Engineer) in St Austell. The salary ranges from £34,368 to £40,729 per year, with standby allowances, call-out, overtime payments, a company van, and excellent benefits. The role involves working a 39-hour week with 1 in 4 Fridays off.

About the role:

You will be responsible for fault finding, repairing, and maintaining SWW assets across wastewater treatment sites and pumping stations, ensuring asset availability and compliance, and supporting environmental and safety standards.

What you'll be doing:
  • Perform planned maintenance on electrical equipment, including pumps, panels, motors, switchgear, and treatment machinery.
  • Apply first-level maintenance activities.
  • Carry out electrical control system repairs.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines.
  • Maintain health and safety standards.
  • Keep training and competencies up to date.
Responsibilities include:
  • Specifying parts for repairs and replacements.
  • Installing electrical equipment per BS7671 standards.
  • Participating in training for safe work practices.
  • Scheduling and executing work activities.
  • Updating internal stakeholders.
  • Using or requesting method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Acting as the duty electrical craftsperson on standby/call-out rota.
What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths, English, Science (grade C or above).
  • Relevant formal qualifications (City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC/HNC/HND).
  • Compliance with IEE 18th Edition wiring regs.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable:

  • City & Guilds Inspect and Test 2391-10.
  • CompEx 09/10.
  • Experience with VSDs, soft starts, motor control systems.
  • Understanding of wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments and method statements.
  • Good knowledge of LV systems (415vac to 24vac and DC control).
