Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – Lakes in Tauranga is seeking an exceptional administrator to join the Surgical Scheduling Team at Tauranga Hospital as a Planned Care Scheduler/Administrator.

You will schedule patients for clinic appointments and surgery at Tauranga or Whakatane Hospital in line with Ministry of Health requirements, delivering high-quality administrative support with accuracy and problem-solving focus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in an administrative position.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of patient information systems and a high level of detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and think outside the box.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patients for clinic appointments and surgery in Tauranga/Whakatane.
  • Collaborate with the Surgical Scheduling Team and Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty.
  • Provide flexible administrative support across the scheduling function.

About the Role

An opportunity exists for an exceptional administrator to join the Surgical Scheduling Team based at Tauranga Hospital as a Planned Care Scheduler/Administrator.

The main purpose of this position is to schedule patients appropriately for clinic appointments and surgery at Tauranga or Whakatane Hospital in line with the Ministry of Health requirements.

This role requires excellent administrative skills, attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to problem solve and think outside the box.

It is an important part of a team who work closely together and with multiple stakeholders across Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty.

It will also require a high level of flexibility as it will be providing support across the whole surgical scheduling team as required.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • The ability to work to a high level and provide excellent customer service.
  • You will be a strong communicator both in verbal and written communication while having well developed interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in an administrative position.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of patient information systems and have a high level of detail and organisational skills.
