Job summary

Bargain Chemist in Porirua is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing and front-line customer care in our community-focused store. The role requires qualification and experience to ensure accurate dispensing and patient counselling.

You will assist with prescriptions, stock control, and blister packs, while using TONIQ Dispensary software where available. Flexibility to work late nights, weekends and public holidays is essential for our growing team.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician qualification (Level 5 preferred).
• At least 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience; OTC knowledge essential.
• First Aid qualification desirable.
• TONIQ Dispensary software knowledge advantageous.
• Willingness to work late nights/weekends/public holidays.
• Blister pack experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the dispensary with labeling and dispensing medicines, ensuring final accuracy and clinical checks.
• Provide healthcare advice, product recommendations and counselling to customers.
• Assist customers with prescriptions and general enquiries.
• Manage dispensary stock and replenishment.
• Update customer files and complete administrative tasks.

What We're Looking For

• Must have Pharmacy Technician qualification - ideally level 5.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in Pharmacy preferred - OTC knowledge is essential.
• A First Aid qualification is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in TONIQ Dispensary software is an advantage.
• Are able to work late nights/weekends and public holidays.
• Are able to multitask with a clear head and a positive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Have exceptional accuracy and speed with a good eye for detail.
• Have Blister pack experience.
