Job summary

Te Whatu Ora Waikato invites applications for a rotational clinical pharmacist role within a tertiary facility. You will rotate across medical, surgical, haematology, oncology, and outpatient services, contributing to medicines safety and clinical support in multiple settings.

Open to new graduates and experienced pharmacists alike, with ongoing training, funding for studies and APC/conference fees, plus five weeks annual leave after five years and long service leave.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through clinical and ward work across medical, surgical, haematology and oncology areas.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services, including compounding and medicines safety.
  • Support across pharmacy services with access to mentorship and training.
  • Participate in on-call roster and occasional weekend shifts with overtime compensation.

Join our clinical pharmacy team in a rotational role designed to support pharmacists at all stages of their career from new graduates or those without hospital experience to advanced rotational practitioners. This position offers hands-on exposure across a variety of services within a tertiary facility renowned for high-quality care in specialties such as medical, surgical, mental health, cardiology, renal, critical care, paediatrics, and more. You'll rotate through all areas of our pharmacy service, including clinical and ward work, the haematology, oncology, and compounding teams, as well as the quality and safe use of medicines team, and both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy settings, providing a comprehensive learning environment. This role includes occasional weekend shifts compensated at overtime rates, plus opportunities to participate in the on-call roster as needed.
