Lake Road Pharmacy in Takapuna, Auckland, NZ seeks an experienced NZ-registered Pharmacist for a senior, dispensary-focused role in a close-knit, laid-back team.

Lake Road Pharmacy (https://www.lakeroadpharmacy.co.nz), a well-established closed community pharmacy on the North Shore, is looking for an experienced Pharmacist to join their close-knit, laid-back team. This is a great opportunity to step away from the pace of a busy retail floor and get back to what you do best, focused, technical dispensary work, while building your skills in one of pharmacy's most interesting and fast-growing niche areas.

About the role

Medicinal cannabis is one of the fastest-evolving areas in New Zealand pharmacy, and Lake Road Pharmacy is looking for someone who can bring real depth, sound judgement and a high degree of independence to a niche that is still being defined. As a closed pharmacy, there's significantly less patient foot traffic than a typical community pharmacy, giving you the space to focus on the technical side of the role without the constant interruptions of a busy retail environment.

You'll step into a senior position, working alongside a supportive team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and admin staff, and stepping in for the Dispensary Manager when needed. This role suits someone who's already built solid pharmacy experience and is ready to take on more responsibility and autonomy. You'll be trusted with real complexity, from the nuances of controlled medicinal cannabis products through to supporting a fast-moving, still-developing part of the industry.

Patients in this space often arrive after other options haven't worked, so alongside your clinical skills, a genuine, compassionate approach to patient care is just as important.

• Full-time, permanent
• Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm
• Occasional late night Friday until 7pm
• Occasional Saturday morning shift, 9am to 12pm paying time and a half

Your day-to-day will include:

Skills and Experience

• NZ-registered pharmacist (registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand is essential; overseas candidates not currently eligible)
• Solid pharmacy experience, with the confidence to work autonomously and handle clinical complexity
• Comfortable with busy dispensary workflows
• Solid understanding of pharmacy regulations and controlled substances
• Proactive, reliable, and a genuine team player
• A compassionate, patient-first approach
• Full working rights in New Zealand (citizenship or valid visa required; visa sponsorship is not available for this role
• Build genuine expertise in medicinal cannabis, a level of specialisation you won't find in another pharmacy in the country
