Job summary

Rentokil Initial is seeking a dedicated field Pest Control Technician to join our NZ team. You’ll conduct site inspections, apply pest control solutions, and advise customers on prevention, working across Whanganui, Palmerston North and surrounding areas with a company vehicle provided.

Applicants should have strong customer service skills, be physically fit, and comfortable using mobile apps to record reports. Full NZ work rights and a valid driver’s licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Full-time, permanent work rights in NZ.
• Full, clean driver’s licence and a clean criminal record.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Physically fit with a focus on health and safety.
• Willing to travel and stay away overnight if needed.
• Pest control regulations and methods experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough site inspections to identify pest activity and determine treatment plans

• Identify hygiene/environmental risks to create safer, healthier spaces
• Accurately complete digital service reports post-visit

You will be out in the field and the first line of defence in the fight against pests, solving customer problems with expert advice and proactive service.

This role is Monday to Friday, covering Whanganui, Palmerston North and surrounding areas. We provide a work vehicle to support your daily travel.

Desirable, but not essential:

• New Zealand Certificate in Pest Operations - Urban Pest Control
• Current NZ Firearm Licence
• Experience and licences for Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platforms
• Ability to operate a manual vehicle
