Job summary

CMC Contracting is seeking a motivated Class 5 truck driver for rural and machinery cartage based at the Pukerau yard, Southland. You’ll handle hay, baleage, bulk loads, machinery and other freight on rural roads, farm tracks and yards, with a crane for loading bags.

This hands-on role rewards safe driving, practical judgment and independent work in a supportive team. Requirements include a current Class 5 licence and at least two years’ experience with heavy truck and trailer combinations, plus

Qualifications

• Current Class 5 licence and 2+ years on heavy truck/trailer.
• Practical rural driving experience and farm access judgement.
• Safe and careful driving, loading and equipment care.
• Reliability and clear communication to organise daily work.
• Willingness to use a tablet for work records.
• Pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing may apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate on rural roads, farm tracks and yards.
• Load bags using a truck-mounted crane.
• Occasional digger work if experienced or keen.
• Overnight stays away from home may be required.
