About the Role

Silver Fern Farms are looking for a passionate People Coordinator to join their enthusiastic and supportive team at their Pareora site in Timaru on a 12 month fixed term contract, covering parental leave.

You’ll be the first point of contact for day-to-day queries, supporting seasonal recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and learning activities, while ensuring that our systems and processes run seamlessly. Additionally, you will provide key support for the International Worker cohort at the Pareora site. By partnering closely with the Regional People Advisor, Employment Coordinator, site leaders, and our wider People team, you’ll contribute to delivering efficient, people-focused services across our network.

Reporting to the Assistant Site Manager, this role provides essential coordination and administration support across the full spectrum of People activities, ensuring smooth processes and great experiences for our team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • In partnership with Production Leaders, improve international team member engagement and attendance.
  • Supporting Regional People Advisors, ensuring consistent, accurate application of people process and policies that align with Silver Fern Farms expectations and standards
  • Support a range of seasonal recruitment activities, including advertising, interviews and new employee documentation
  • Support the training team with onboarding process for all new seasonal staff
About You
  • You would ideally bring significant experience in an administration or coordination role, with experience working in unionised, shift-based and/ or multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Highly developed administration skills, with the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
  • An understanding of international worker and the challenges they face transitioning to NZ life and employment
  • Some understanding of NZ employment law, collective agreements, and industrial relations practices
  • Strong relationship building skills with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Practical, customer focused and responsive
