Fire and Emergency New Zealand invites applications for a NHQ People Advisory partner based in Wellington. This fixed-term role (or secondment) provides high-level generalist HR advice to align people strategy with business goals, with a strong emphasis on strategic guidance and timely support for managers across the region.

You will bring senior generalist HR experience, solid knowledge of NZ employment law, and outstanding relationship management.

Be part of an organisation dedicated to helping our communitiesWellington NHQ based positionSalary range $140,159-$155,732 (pro-rata), dependent on skills and experienceBring your sound relationship management and generalist HR experience to a position where you will work in a highly strategic space.Mo tenei turanga - about the roleAs part of our People Advisory team, the NHQ Business Partner supports the alignment of the organisational people strategy with the overarching business strategy, guiding and advising on strategic management, providing targeted advice, expertise and guidance whilst engaging with managers across the region to provide support implementing strategic processes and complex HR matters.You will build a high level of trust and become the go to person for any generalist HR related queries. You will work closely with the different areas of the people branch to provide high quality and timely advice across the organisation.This is a fixed term position or secondment opportunity from ASAP - Thursday, 25th March 2027.Ko tau na i tenei turanga - What you'll bring to the role:You'll be a seasoned People practitioner who clearly demonstrates leadership behaviours that cultivate a supportive work environment.
