The Role

We are seeking Peer Support Co-Facilitators to help deliver our online support groups. This role is always co-facilitated with a registered social worker or counsellor — volunteers are never expected to lead sessions alone. Facilitators bring their lived experience and/or community services background to create supportive, healing spaces for participants.

  • Co-facilitate online peer support groups (approx. 60 minutes each, plus prep and reflection).
  • Welcome participants, support group agreements, and guide safe discussions.
  • Model empathy, listening, and peer support values.
  • Provide feedback and reflections to strengthen programme delivery.
Skills and experience
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Lived experience of trauma recovery, family harm, is highly valued.
  • Studying or background in social services, social work, counselling, or psychology is a bonus.
  • Reliable internet connection and confidence using Teams.
What we offer
  • Induction and training in trauma-informed peer support.
  • Ongoing professional supervision and team support.
  • Flexible, remote role (2–3 hours per week per group).
  • Opportunity to make a direct impact on the wellbeing of communities across Aotearoa.
